Does the weather pattern causing the extreme flooding in Britain have an impact on the weather patterns in the Atlantic that may influence the hurricane season? Nightline wants to blame the flooding on Global Warming.

The main reason the UK has had so much rain this summer has something to do with the Azores high not breaking away from its position from time to time, in an average summer in the UK we get our fair share of rain from the Atlantic interspersed with anticyclonic breaks from the Azores high or an Eastern/Southern Europe flow, this year it just hasn't happened at all, hence all the rain rolling in over the top of the Azores anticyclone.
Whether it will have any influence on the Atlantic hurricane season remains to be seen
