When and where will Dean form?
Modeled on the Chantal thread.
My guess - August 9 - central Atlantic. Becomes the first hurricane of 2007 and remains at sea.

Re: When and where will Dean form?
I say it forms near the bahamas mid next week and is then pushed west into the GOM. From that point, it really all depends on the strength of the system, and positioning of other weather features as to where this may end up in the long run. If the ridge remains strong, then it will be a western or west-central GOM issue, but if there is a weakness then the central or eastern GOM could be most at risk. If the environment is favorable, then I could see this easily becoming our first hurricane.
BTW: Yes, I know this is a very detailed analysis of something that hasn't even formed and likely will not actually ever play out. But hey, you never know..
lol.

Still thinking we will see TS Dean in the BOC or Yucatan channel in the next few days. Probably -removed- at this point, but still a possibility.
