Trying to figure out which storm...

Hey y'all....I was talking to my mom last night about a storm that was heading west in the Carib. and then made a right turn and went up the FL peninsula. I remember seeing the track in the historical maps in the Dean thread, pretty early on, but I can't find it. Does anyone have a clue which storm that might have been? I would appreciate any help.

what year was it?? Was it a hurricane or tropical storm?

When you find that out...just do a google search for a Fl. Penisula storm/hurricane in the year???????

Hurrican Charley sort of did that. Although it wasn't traveling due west through the Carib. More NW or even NNW...South of Jamaica, then really turned North, went across western Cuba and then made the turn into FL and traveled across the middle of the state,

sept 24,1894...wnw from antigua, paralleling the south coast of cuba, right turn at 80-81W, north thru the straits to key west, n/nne over the fla peninsula....dennis aug 8, 1981, right turn from south of cuba, north thru the keys, up the peninsula..

Thanks. I'm not sure which one was the one on the historical map, but it was probably Dennis. Once the search feature is enabled again, I'll search for it
