When and where will Felix form?

#1 Postby CrazyC83 » Tue Aug 21, 2007 1:52 pm

With Dean and Erin having formed so fast, I think this should be asked.

I think August 26, out of a rejuvenated system in the Gulf from the remnants of 92L. Category 1 hurricane.

I"m thinking we will get about a week or 2 off before the next storm forms. I thought the next invest was going to form, but upon looking at the maps, conditions may be a bit more hostile out there than I originally thought. A week or 2 off will be good though. These forums are too damn addicting,

THIS IS PURELY SPECULATION
If this comes true, you shall all worship me as the god of Storm2k.
---
Felix will form within 24 hours of exiting the coast of Africa on August 22nd. It will track westward, curving north of the islands after reaching 145mph winds, and will hitchhike a ride out to fish world by a large trough. The trough will die or outrun the system north of Bermuda, where it will meander to 4-5 days as an annular category two hurricane. The hurricane will show signs of dissipation as it is downgraded back to a tropical storm north east of he Bahamas, but in the low steering currents, it will sit there until sheer lightens up, allowing to regain major hurricane status as it completes the loop, heading into Central Florida as a large, Frances-like category two on September. It will move up the state re entering the Atlantic ocean as a tropical storm, but quickly curving to the north to strike South Carolina as a 65mph tropical storm. It will retain tropical storm status for a full day after landfall, finally dissipating on September 24th, becoming the longest lasting hurricane in history. The Storm2k.org server will crash at least twice, as the record for users online breaks 1000. There will be over 2,000 pages on Felix's thread. Here is a track map for those who cannot envision my prediction.

I love to make fake hurricane tracks also(actually have written advisories!), but I never thought of something quite like that. :P

Haha, I'd like to see them. Maybe we could make a Hypothetical Hurricane thread in the offtopic forum. Thoughts?

I think we did that once in the not too distant past - plotting the "big" one - and it pretty much came true . . . . (be careful what you plot  )

Yeah, but for this thread, we could use rules like, this is not a forecast, orignal names must be created, yada yada yada. I regret joining Storm2k in June, I've known about it since 2005, I missed out on all the fun stuff.

THAT'S GREAT!!! I am doing a meteorology block with my students during the first month of school and they will be tracking all activity in the tropics. Having this track to follow would be FANTASTIC practice for them!
