We just had a long-tracking category five hurricane and people are bored again already? Oh, how fickle the masses can be.

Well, let me tell you this. Savor it, because it's coming to an end, shortly. Conditions keep getting better for development. La Nina forming, SAL nearly gone. Enjoy the empty TWO's while you have them, I am.

I'm not tired of it, in fact I would love to see it for the rest of the season. I do love tracking storms and don't mind a minor one coming around. However, Dean, was a bit too much and enough to make me realize that I don't want one of those anywhere in my area. Further, I am afraid the remainder of the season will spawn powerful storms.

Nobody wants destruction and loss of life, is that clear. The majority of the people on this site are obsessed w/ tropical weather and want something to talk about in the Atlantic, including me. I guess everybody has to be politically correct and say no tropical activity is just fine. I've been thorugh 3 hurricanes in the past 3 years and have experienced stress and financial strain and absolutely don't want a storm to come to SFL and don't want anybody to suffer, that said my obsession wants a storm to track. Sorry just being honest.

After tracking Hurricane Flossie, STY Sepat, and Hurricane Dean in a span of 2 weeks, I can certainly say that I got more than I bargained for - I'm out of tracking energy! A rest is needed for me.

You forgot about the "-removed-" that goes on when there is an active storm from some posters. That's pathetic.

I'm with you. I'd like to see the Atlantic basin more active. Dean was fun, but it was the only thing we've seen really worth tracking in a year. And the models were never in any disagreement where it was going to go. Do I want lives lost, etc? No. But I will admit to having a passion about active weather and the adrenaline rush that comes with it. I've never been quite sure why people participate in a hurricane forum if all they ever want to see is "nothing" in the TWOs. Why would they want to talk about "nothings" day in and day out?

Bring on the storms! A nice Tropical storm will be the only thing that can save most of Alabama right now. The trees and bushes are dying by the day. UAB will have to replant almost everything... All the trees are dead!

Sorry but I guess I'm maybe in the minority here because I love reading that TWO update. Even after almost two years since Katrina,Rita and Wilma I still have no desire to see anything remotely like that anywhere around the U.S. I'm on this board to get information and comment but not to cheer on storms or development like some but not all on this board. I was once like that but I saw what hurricanes could do up close and personal in 2004 and 2005 and it left a lasting affect on me. I'm crossing my fingers we can squeak by another season without a major hit. Just my opinion.

It gives us a chance to take a breather for a bit. This isn't like 2005 where such happened so rarely (was there ever a day from late June to early November without at least an Invest?)

Enjoy the lull, it probably won't last long. Climatology is my guide there. Add to that the predictions from very smart people who tell us that this season is very likely to be more active than usual and I have what I consider to be a pretty safe bet. On the other hand, there is an ever so slight chance that yes, Dean was it. We might not see any more named storms this season and no more hurricanes for that matter. There is at least a chance. The thing I like is that no matter what anyone says, thinks, posts or what ever, we absolutely will find out sooner or later. That part of this obsession is awesome- there is verification- always.

Would you be happier if it said something like "catastrophic hurricane heading at the central east coast of Florida"
