NOLA Airport

#1 Postby ga_ben » Wed Aug 31, 2005 12:35 pm

Does anyone have any idea when or if the Int'l airport can accept supply flights? I haven't heard if it is still underwater or not. I do believe it is fairly far west of the downtown sections. Seems like this would be a good place to set up logistics.

BTW, I usually lurk and seldom post but I feel as if I know most of you after reading your posts for the past 2 or 3 years. Good luck to everyone and thank you Mods for your tireless work.

Last I heard via CNN, they were setting up the airport to use as a hospital type of thing...Someone correct me if I'm wrong. As for the runways, I would think they would be working on clearing one or two of those now and would hopefully have one open asap.....haven't heard specifics though.

Just heard that to Canelaw. They are setting up a field hospital. I assume these can do everything including surgeries.

That's what I thought I'd heard. All the info. is starting to run together though. Those people desperately need medical help, so I hope they can get the injured there soon.

Seems that they have set up a field hospital, that will allow surgery as well. Helo's setting down with injured. Also seems it is now operable which is a good thing!
