Having worked in the boating industry my guess is this is a freshwater vehicle? I didn't see any photos of beach shots. I actually saw a watercar locally once not this pretty but it was really weird to see it at the grocery store

This actually gives me an idea.

They make similar things in the form of buses, mostly used to give tours in Boston, Baltimore, etc. If they could get them to New Orleans, they'd be a great way to evacuate the city.

Actually, there's one owned by someone in Bayou Vista and they use it in the boat parades. So, I guess some of them can be for saltwater use.

YES !!! We have one here. Duck Tours! It's a bus that drives tourists around then goes into the lagoon. Excellent idea.
