Plaquemines Parish straddles the Mississippi River South of New Orleans to the mouth. In other words, the area that was ground zero for Katrina's initial landfall in SELA.

We are hearing nothing about this area in the news. I can only imagine how many fatalities there are from this area.

Actually, I think this was the area that officials said had been "reclaimed" by the Mississippi River.
