34 counts of involuntary manslaugher for the suspects, the two owners of the St. Rita's nursing home.

CORRECTED: the charges are involuntary manslaughter, not involuntary homicide.

:notworthy:

Just one question -- is this the nursing home where the Jefferson Parish president's mother was?

I don't think it was his mother - I'm pretty sure it was the man that owned the emergency operations building or something like that. It was the Parish President who told the story tho.

I remember when the St Rita's story first came out that they interviewed the local sheriff there who said he offered 2 busses to take the St Rita residents and workers out Before Katrina - but the owners turned him down saying that they had 5 patients who needed more help than that, that they'd talked to residents families who said it was ok for them to stay and finally thay told him that they've always been fine before in hurricanes....
