Well, believe it or not, the Army Corp of Engineers has taken full responsibility for the levee failures. Never thought I would ever hear that.

timNms.........the folks you mentioned that "evacuated" to the second floor of the hotel on route 90 in Waveland....near the K-mart.

They are darned lucky they survived. We eat lunch at the Sonic right across the street from that hotel. I can only imagine what they went through. Entire chunks of the building blew away while the surge choked with debris hammered the lower floor.

Nothing is being done with the hotel. It appears to be slated for demolition.
