Long Beach, MS: Call just received!!!
Just got call from Long Beach. Cell service beginning to return but is very sporadic. Everything south of the railroad tracks is devastated. Not too bad to the north. No one is allowed to go south of the tracks. Food and water not yet available. Cousin lives at elevation of 44' and water was 10 to 15 feet from his house. Trees down on roof but house is basically OK. Will post again if I hear anything else.

Great news! I am sure you are vastly relieved. Even spotty cell service could be all it takes to get out information to so many. I am saddened to hear everything is gone pretty much south of the railroad tracks since 3 of my cousins live south of the tracks. Hopefully they were able to evacuate late sunday night.

I live in Ohio. During the call I received from Long Beach a by-stander who saw cousin talking on phone asked if I could call someone in Texas to report that they were safe. It was the least I could do being so far removed from the area. If everyone could do the same it would provide some relief for people wondering about their loved ones.
