Almost surely due to water eroding the anchoring soil at the base of the levee. This is how most of the breaks occur, rather than the levee collapsing from the pressure of the water. AFter all, that is what they are designed to withstand.

Flooding Has Now Stopped

It is being reported that New Orleans is now equalized to sea level with flooding, so any new floodwater has essentially stopped flowing.

Good news, I suppose.

not sure where it is, Anderson Cooper was talking with the lead Army Corp Engineer who said that they just got word in of another breach. Been looking for online confirmation but nothing so far.
