First off please excues my spelling and typing its been a long day.
Life is sometimes full of just plain bad things. Yesterday I went with PFC Tanner into GP to look at some spots to set up communications. Later that night some men ask me to join them in search and rescue, I am stupid! I did. It was not what I wanted, I wanted to help find people alive, instead we found 17 bodies. ...... I pause......I write this so all of you can maybe in some way get a feeling of what has happened.
More bodies will be found, more people that onced lived and no longer here. It will take a very long time to find these people. To tell their families, its awful, its hell. I thought I had seen everything in the short time I spent in Vietnam, in NY and at other sites. This is a 10+ it is something I hope none of you here will ever ever have a chance to be a witness to.
I think I aged one year today, I was moving a pile of wood and uncoved a very young child, I cannot come close to telling how I felt. I am not a perfect Christian, I will not question why, but I do in ways. I called my wife and she says to come on home that this is effecting me to much. I must stay, I just want to find one person alive, not much, just one or more then I will know that I have helped.
Good news is Cingular, verizon and Nextel are moving in portable system to increase the traffic flow. From the info I am getting through the traffic that flows through out communication center. Now the bad news, NO is bad, real bad. This is not public but some are saying that the death toll may be over 2K if not higher before this is over.
Companies trying to get supplies into these areas are having trouble, no fuel for the return. Something is gonna have to happen with that. I told you all yesterday AM that the Navy was about to be called out. You have heard by now that they are moving out.
That is all I have time for today.
