Pic link for Pascagoula Beach

#1 Postby MSRobi911 » Fri Sep 02, 2005 8:35 pm

These are some pictures I took with my digital on Tuesday. The one you see with my husband in his Sheriffs Office Uniform, me in the middle and my son on my right is where we are standing in front of what was my home. There is one of what was Trent Lott's House, but I can't tell ya which one it was his is the same as mine, flat.

Just thought I would let you see.

sorry my sons link :) and that pic of me is HORRIBLE!

These photos are backwards .... he did it not me...but on page 4 toward the bottom you can see how high the water got inside the sheriffs office. Where you see the water is five feet high there was another one to two feet outside the door that didn't come in.

The little fish is a bull minow that was swimming in the court house, that was after Robi saw a mullett swim thru and then when the water was going out there was a blue gill that was swimming out.

Thank you for sharing your pictures and what you've experienced. I'm so glad that you and yours are safe!

What amazes me about the "before and after" shots is that the plants, grass, etc. look like they weren't even affected, with the exception of the few trees that you can see were toppled over. It almost looks like a tornado hit each house, but didn't touch the surrounding ground. Amazing!

Thank you all for your concern and your prayers. Hey, I made it thru Hurricane Georges when I had 2 foot of water in my house, so I will make it thru this with no house. We have our lives and that is more than we can be thankful for!

Wow. What can be said. Thank God you and your family have been spared. Life cannot be replaced but possessions can. You are blessed and have a family of friends that are very supportive. Just know we all feel your pain deeply. Its been a very long week.

Wow @ the picture of the statue of Mary standing above the flood, looking down as if she's praying for everyone to be spared.

Thanks for sharing those, Mary.

Good news got to go to where my house was today for a couple of hours and found my rocking chair. Robi had to fight a water mocassin for it, but he won! We saw a lot of our stuff and its about 300 feet back behind where my property stopped, some of it is in a bayou and I guess will be gotten out sooner or later as we can't reach it. Robi found the front door intact with frame and all back there and it still had the stupid wreath that I had on it still there....some things you just don't understand.

Robi is taking off tomorrow so we can go see what else we can save. I saw some plates and some pots and crystal serving dishes and other odds and ends that we can pick up tomorrow.

Just thought I would let ya'll know!

Those have to be some of the best pictures I've seen yet to describe this catastrophy. At first I was like, why is she posting these pics, her house made it just fine.......then I ran into the first "after" pic. It was like someone punched me. And to see the fireplace you were all sitting on before......the pics just really drive home that this thing affected real people, real families. I mean we see so many devastated buildings, but don't put faces with the destruction........these pics did that. Thank God you are safe, thanks for posting, God bless you in the aftermath.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and support. We as Southeners will make it! I was born and raised here so am not going to move. Don't know if I will rebuild on the exact spot, maybe somewhere up north in the county :)

Things are still really bad here, I am lucky that my mom lives in Moss Point which is just north of Pascagoula and she got power on Friday so am cool to sleep and she actually had enough water pressure to take a shower tonight. I feel like a new woman!

Just remember all of us down here on the MS Gulf Coast and New Orleans, Slidell and surrounding areas. Hattiesburg MS which is 80 miles north still doesn't have power so we are really lucky here.

Thanks again!
