Banks in NO???

I work at a bank in New Orleans....If looters entered any of our branches, they couldn't and wouldn't get to any cash. Not even 1 red cent is to be found at my banks branches when we are closed. And there is no entering any of our vaults...not only does it take two people to open them, but, they can't be opened, at all, when the electricity is down. And they are all surrounded by 1 foot of concrete. And if anyone tried to drill our vaults, there are pieces of steel twisted in the concrete that would break any drill bits. And if by chance, they did get into the vault (a crane with a wrecking ball couldn't get in), they'd find those spare pennies behind two more locked safes, inside of the main safe....

Banks in Denham Springs are on "lock down" - no lobby traffic - everything must be done through the drive through.

Mattie, Where did this info come from. I have tried to get to the bank here in Denham Springs and so far my bank at least have remained closed.

That came from my best friend regarding Hibernia and the smaller area banks in DS. I imagine by Tuesday things will be working better. I think those that have main facilities in New Orleans are probably working hard at getting the computer centers, etc. rerouted and implementing their disaster recovery plans.

We have a lot of Hibernia banks in Beaumont and Katrina affected direct deposits. The branches here announced that if you brought in your pay stub, they would give you cash.

Also, our Entergy bill are mailed to their office in New Orleans. They announced that they have worked out something with the Post Office, that all of their pay slips will be re-routed to another facility.

I spoke to a gentleman in Nashville yesterday whose son was just deputized as a U.S. Marshall and deployed to N.O. He and others like him are being deployed to protect N.O. banks, in full body armour and helmets, with orders to shoot to kill anybody who is attempting to break into the banks.

If what Sean posted above is accurate his son will be about as useful as tits on a bull. Considering people still need rescuing why deploy men to guard banks that can not be looted.
