I thought of that too, but with everything that we've done for them, it really heartens me to see that they are returning the favor. :D

We might want to just exchange those dollars directly for gasoline, but that's a tremendously generous gift from the Kuwaiti and Qatari people. Quite obviously we are not without friends, at least in emergency, in the Middle East.

God bless them all for their generous aid. It is badly needed and will be greatly appreciated. I guarantee you, we won't forget their help.

Uhhh.... Kuwait was never an enemy of the United States. That's the country we liberated from Iraq. Seems like as little payback is in order. Very generous on their part and graciously received I'm sure.

When things get hard, its your real friends that are there to help pull you back up. And you better believe we Americans will remember those who are helping us in our time of need.

Afghanistan has pledged $100,000.

Afghans give $100,000 for Katrina relief

KABUL, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Impoverished Afghanistan will give $100,000 for relief efforts in the United States in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. embassy said.

U.S. ambassador Ronald Neumann thanked the Afghan people at a ceremony on Sunday at which the aid was pledged by the government on behalf of the people.

"Their compassion and generosity bears testimony to the strength of the ties between our two peoples," Neumann said.
