From the media reports I've been able to watch the last week I haven't seen much reported about the area of se Louisiana(Boothville,Venice etc.). Does anyone have any links or info they've heard about that area? Thanks!

Ain't much there - according to the Army Corps of Engineers news footage. They landed a helicopter on the levy and the place is still, quiet, no sign of life. They said they had a 98% evacuation rate. There were 5 people that lived and stayed in Grand Isle during the storm. But I think everything pretty much in parishes south of NO are pretty desolate.
