Nightline - Congressman Jefferson - National Guard Rescue

Nightline last night was an expose on one of the congressmen from New Orleans currently under investigation by the FBI, set up a legal defense fund asking for contributions during the height of the Katrina aftermath, got the National Guard to give him a "tour of his district" shortly after the flood - made them stop at his house for over an hour - tied up two 5 ton NG trucks AND a helicopter at his house, while he packed up a bunch of stuff and made the troops load it in the truck (said stuff removed now of interest to the FBI)

I must be the most NAIVE person on the planet!!! I for the life of me can not understand how people think they can get away with something like that, especially if they are already under investigation!!!

Yeah, that's beyond lame. Even if he slips through the investigation (whatever its for) unscathed, I seriously doubt he will have a future in politics....not once his constituents learn that he left them on rooftops while he picked up his laptop.
