I've got photos from Rita
This will give you all some sort of look at what's going on in Lafayette, LA
We are about 70 miles to the east of Lake Charles.
Read my blog to see how things went. I did get out to take some photos today.
The photos represent the damage and flooding we saw. Majority of the city is fine. Business remain closed today as there are still squals out there.
We did find 2 restaurants open and a few gas stations. I think there is a curfew tonight. Last night they couldn't figure out if there was going to be one or not.

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. And thanks, too, Oklahoma Weather for your pictures. We have got to get a digital camera-- the sunrise Friday morning here was spectacularly orange and red! It reminded me of a phrase my Mom always says, "Red sky at morning, sailor take warning... red sky at night, lover's delight." I hate I didn't get a picture of it.
Glad y'all are safe and wish everyone a quick and safe recovery.

No problem. Vermillion Parish took a hit with the flooding! Big time storm surge.
That flooding I showed you guys is nothing compared to what is in Southern Vermillion Parish. I wasn't going to much further south.
Yes, Lafayette was spared. I believe the damage could have been a lot worst if not for Lili knocking down all the old trees 3 years ago.
The neighborhoods like Brentwood and Broadmoor have more damage, because of all the trees.
Cameron parish looks horrible!
