Barrier Islands Before and After Storms

Here is a good site that shows the Chandeleur Islands before Ivan, Dennis, Katrina, and Rita and the same Islands after the above storms. This onslaught has caused severe damage to the chain and this does not bode well for future storms impacting La. Miss. and Ala.

That is scary. It is hard to believe that the second pictures are the islands after Katrina. There is nothing left.

I was just looking at the pictures of Dauphin Island and it is unbelievable seeing those area and knowing what is gone.

that after photo at the very bottom of the page almost looks like a map of the world. :lol: But yeah, very crazy pictures...can't believe that once white sandy islands would be wiped away.
