Advertising Other Sites

We felt that we needed to clarify what the members can and cannot do with advertisements of their own or other websites.

Basically, we do not allow straight advertisement of another site in our forums without prior approval of the Admin team. We do not mind, however, if you have a link in your signature.

We do have an area where our members can have direct links to their sites displayed and have several members who do that. Please contact either mfdolphin, chadtm80 or Ticka1 by pm or email if you would like to advertise your site.

If we find a topic or thread that does advertise another website without prior approval, it will be removed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to pm me or any of the other mods or administrators. Thank you!

No problem John. Some people may not be aware of it and we thought that it would be a good idea to post it where everyone can read it.

The signature line link is a nice compromise I think.

So, do you guys just mean other weather sites?

I mean, when we link to news or Snopes or stuff like that for discussion, it's okay, right?

And is my link to the UK Yahoo stats page in my signature line okay?

If there is a link used for discussion purposes that's fine - it's easier than cutting and pasting or typing it out! :lol:

We don't have any problem with links in your signature - you're not creating a thread or post to "advertise" your thread.

The main point is that this board was created for discussion purposes, not as a billboard. If there is something that you would like to "plug", Chad, Marshall or Ticka would be happy to discuss it with you first, but it should be their decision since it's their board.

The "Member's Sites" pages have not been converted to the new look and feel yet.
