A very short bio is available on my website under the Bio Section but basically here it is in a nutshell.
Stormsfury - "Mike Blanton"
I'm 31 years old, born July 6th, 1972, single/no children. I've lived in the Charleston, SC, my entire life and currently reside in Ladson, SC outside of Charleston. I've always had a fascination with weather ever since I was 6 years old. I've been through a slew of weather events living here in Charleston, but the late 1970's subjected Charleston to just about every kind of weather possible and that only fascinated me more, and in particular, Hurricane David.
Aside from the being an avid weather enthusiast, I also have other hobbies which include bowling and singing. Music has been a big part of my life and particularly heavy music, which I relate more to.
I didn't start posting on messageboards until late November when someone I talked with a lot on Yahoo! Messenger convinced me to join TWC. From there, in February, I found Storm2k after what a lot of us call "Bloody Wednesday" on TWC in regards to the pulling of off-topic.
I have had a very good understanding with the weather for quite a while now but it was only in the past 7 or 8 months when I decided to give forecasting a try for areas under than my own local area. I've had quite a bit of success locally and decided to branch out. When I was asked to try out forecasting on Storm2k, I pretty much jumped at the opportunity, knowing that we have a good commodity of members, and many more guests which come through to read but not post. I always have been a climatological data gatherer to view past trends/data, but this is the first year I've tried out forecasting, and at times, it's been difficult, but for the most part, the results of that have been well worth it.
