Suggestions for the next forums upgrade

Here are my ideas, feel free to add your own:

1) Add an option to turn off the "edited by" feature if you edit your posts within 5 minutes or so. This will help prevent people from thinking that you have bad grammer and speeling. (j/k )

2) Add an option for thread title subheaders. For example, if a thread's title was "MF_Dolphin Makes 25,000 Posts (Yeah Right 8) ), the subheader could say "Storm2K Now Has a New Record Holder! ".

3) Add a speeling chek opshun for posts liek dese.

4) Add a ranting forum where we can go and release our excess steam, so to speak.

Good suggestions..

1) The edit function is an on or off option assigned to each forum. There just isn't a time oprion available. Sorry

2) I've never seen a "sub-title" mod available for phpBB. I'll be happy to look.

3) I would love a spell checker since I make my fair share of typos. LOL

4) A Ranting Forum is definitely possible. It will be up to the Moderator and Admins to discuss. We're preety open about what we allow in the Off-Topic forum so I'm not sure what another forum would add except another forum to check every time you were on the board but we'll discuss it

I actually found a spell checker for phpBB! Give Chad and I a chance to see how it works and we'll keep everyone updated...

I have another idea. Could you add a feature that shows what forums we have most frequently posted in in our personal profiles? Thanks. Also a top 5 or top 10 posters per forum feature would be nice as well.

Joshua, I was wondering about some features that could be added, too. I assume that an admin. has no control over some features we would like to have.

Aren't features we see on other message board sites build in?

Would be great if we could have all our suggestions for the site implemented here at Storm2K.

Yeah it would ... however I know we cannot have everything we want, which is OK.

There are probably 10 or more bulliten board packages out there in common use. Each of them have a set of basic features with many more features installed as Mods or modifications. We are running phpBB 2.0.3 with about 15 mods installed. Chad and I don't write the Mods but we install and maintain the board. If you find a board with a feature you really like please post the link so we can go take a look

LOL sounds like phpBB is getting a run for its money all that Josh stated.. I have at Wxchat but it took ALOT of modifications and installs.... some were also default.

I could add the online/offline hack that we have at WxChat ... (some of these also came from another site that I frequent ), such as the top posters in each forum idea.

Yeah Josh that is great to have here the 10 first posters or the 5 most and the top posters at each forum those are great for here and I hope those are installed.
