Radar Range Rings

#1 Postby dizzyfish » Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:32 pm

Back in 2004 I used a radar to track weather during Jeanne and Francis. I thought it was on the local NWS site. I can't seem to find it now. It was on their regular radar but there was a box at the bottom that you could check for range rings.

1) Do they only have that during hurricane season?

2) Or, did they do away with it?

Thanks,
Dotty

NWS radars have a mouse function that is at the bottom of the display that allows for range and azimuth information from your selected point of interest. Instructions are at the bottom of your desired NWS radar location. I vaguely remember something like the range rings but it may be a private companies retooled display of an NWS radar.
