Gordon's popped the first true and beautiful eye of this season, but convection is still rather limited. Does the diurnal maximum happen for strong storms too, in other words, could that really help pump the storm up tonight?

I hate to be the one to start this... but storm-size relative, that eye is huge and clean. If Gordon picks up enough convection to form a single strong band, could it go annular?
