If they made right turns, they would be moving into the wind--planes can't handle it. But actually, notice where the wind dies down and changes direction around 2054...that's the eye. Amazing how much north it has moved.

I'd forgotten to check for the low readings, so which is the pressure on that line? I haven't done this in a while.

The second-to-last column is the heights...in this case, the 700mb heights. The lower the height of 700mb, the lower the pressure at the surface (and everywhere through the atmosphere). Comparing these values could give you an approximation of the pressure, but you really need a dropsonde to give it an exact number.

NOAA plane is going back to Tampa...

The AF plane went through the eye again...coordinates almost exactly the same as in the vortex. Also note how far it is between the peak wind in the eyewall and the center of the eye...shows what a large eye it is.
