Besides, based on your statement, Galveston getting hit would still mean a "fish" storm to you since we aren't on the "Mainland."

Anytime you have a system moving 20+mph any UL wind coming from the direction it is headed is magnified above the surface feature. 91L has seen slight southwesterly shear. Albeit it has not effected it. I'm pointing out that the shear over the islands of the last few days is decreasing, had it not proceeded the outlook for development would have been lessened.

Way to early to call fish. The newest models have the system further west than the previous ones and now coming pretty doggone close, if not thru the Bahamas.
