Unconfirmed, yet scary information!

#1 Postby wx247 » Wed May 21, 2003 8:19 am

I was watching On The Record last night and Greta announced that she had discovered on an Islamic website telling all Muslims to be out of New York, Washington DC, and Boston by "tomorrow". There is no way to know when this message was put up on the site, but it did give me an eerie feeling.

I then heard Andrea Mitchell, from MSNBC/NBC, mention this same thing later in the evening on a rerun of The News With Brian Williams.

I heard ths same report on "Fox & Friends" this morning.

(a) It could merely be a ruse for

(1) strikes elsewhere in the US, or
(2) "disinformation" alone

(b) Or, the "chatter" as intercepted may be genuine. As with every other terrorist organ, Al-Qaida lives by deception, misdirection and outright lies to achieve its ends. And frankly, we won't really know until the deed is done.

I hope it's just their ramblings, because my daughter works in DC!

Always a concern when a major holiday approaches. I can remember thinking New Years Eve at Times Square was going to be hit. It's so sad that we have to live this way now, but as Hank Jr. says: "America will survive".

Memorial Day and its meaning to Americans has me more than a little nervous that this would be the perfect time to try to hit us.

They mentioned those cities on the news this morning and also the beaches.

To tell you the truth, I've been complaining about the weather we've been having here lately, but everytime there has been "chatter" about a potential attack, the weather has kind of protected us here on the East Coast - I believe that the President's Day snowstorm is one example.

RAIN ON!!! :o

I am very concerned....not only do I have friends living in the DC and Boston area; but my friends Eric and Debby Horner are there today...Eric taping a Memorial Day concert along with several other country artists in Arlington, Virginia :(

I've heard these reports as well. Osama bin Laden has family in the Boston area.

As most of you know by now I will be in the Boston area (where I lived from birth to just over a month before I turned 23) from this Tuesday to Tuesday, June 10th. Looking forward to it, of course... but this makes things more interesting; one plus, I am leaving the day after Memorial Day.
