Can't Sleep

#1 Postby conestogo_flood » Tue Mar 14, 2006 11:52 am

Just about had it!

For about the past week and a half, I have only been able to get 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night.

I am dead today. I look like crap, my eyes are puffy, I have a head ache, I'm extremely cranky, and I'm not hungry.

I think I should go see my doctor soon. I don't know how much longer of this I can take.

Anyone ever have one of these perdicaments?

sorry about that!!! i only get 5 hours or so on a good night.

are you worried about something? try sleeping with a fan on? have you tried any of the over-the-counter remedies?

a nice warm cup of herbal tea often helps me relax. that and a nice hot bath.

I know how yyou feel. I go through what some people call cycles. I can go up 9 months of getting 2 to 5 hours a night, and then start sleeping about 8 hours. I don't know when it is going to happend, and it gets in the way a lot. You may want to go to your daoctot and shee what they think. I should go too but I'm hard headed and I don't have insurance. You may want to try this: Give you're self 2 hours to relax before going to bed. In that time, listen to soft music (helps to put your mind at rest) and drink some herbal tea with no surgar. Then just before bed take a hot as you can stand it shower. That will help you're body relax even more. Sometimes this works for me and other times it does not. Good lick with it though!

I constantly have trouble sleeping, but will occasionally be able to sleep 6-8 hours. Don't know what to tell you except that you're not alone.

I have a similar problem, too. Maybe it has to do with that I'm often a night person.

I've heard the more sleep deprived you are the harder it is to fall asleep. A tylenol pm may help at least until you can get your regular sleep habits back.

I take tylenol pm every night. It does seem to help. I normally get no more than 6 hours of sleep per night.

be lucky you are not in my world.

I was addicted to sleeping pills for more than 10 years. Will never touch them again, though do drink more than I want to just to get relaxed enough to fall alseep. If not, I don't sleep, period, even if I have been up for 48 hours previous

Yeah. You're certainly not alone. I've become more of a night person I think lately. I sometimes stay up til about 3 or 4am. Then I turn around and sleep til noon. So, I'm not sleep DEPRIVED...I just haven't gone to bed early. Besides, if I went to sleep at 11pm like I used to do, I'd wake up around 7am and that's too early when not in school. I'll get back into that routine come June but for now I'm content to sit up late at night and talk online.

Yep... I'm not used to sleeping pills all the time, either. Sometimes, however, they might be fine.

Try taking a couple of OTC sleeping pills either sominex or sleepinol or even benedryle in the pink box. just don't take them all of the time. I only take them if I go 3 night with little sleep.
