Why is the tendancy always to blame the victim? The guy was murdered, give him a break!

No break, from my angle. From all accounts this mother was a good one, she had to have a motive for doing this. You just don't snap overnight, unless she'd been putting up with abusive behavior or it was escalating towards the daughters, for years.

We don't know why yet but my gut tells me this was not a normal family and household.

Same with Laci and Conner Peterson's murder - Scott Peterson was anything but normal.
Same with Lori Hacking - Mark Hacking was anything but normal.

We could debate what normal is but for now, I echo a previous comment - this guy did something to prompt his wife to take such drastic measures. Of course I'm not saying murder is the answer but clearly something was amiss in that family.

At least she didn't harm the kids!

The only thing Mary is that in both of the cases you mentioned... the person who was NOT NORMAL was the MURDERER. I personally think we are rushing to conclusions. Let's let the information come out and then let us dissect this.

What we do know is a man is dead and his wife confessed. If the man was a monster, we will know in due time.

All I can think of in this tragic event are the girls. Their father is dead and there's a chance their mother may spend her life in prison. Poor poor girls. No telling what this may do to them in the future. :(

IMO, I feel the same thing. She was a good wife and mother and to do this is totally out of character for her. Something "really" bad had to happen to make her do what she did. And you know a mom will do anything to protect her children. Again, JMO!!!

I bet the wife had an affair and wanted his insurance money.

Regardless of the reason, I hope she spends the rest of her days rotting in a prison cell. Murder is not something to take lightly...

The only chance the Mother has in court was if the Father was abusing the children. IMO that is justifiable grounds to kill someone. If I found out someone had been abusing my children there would be hell for them to pay.......MGC

So, like what, she had an affair with a poor guy who she preferred over her husband and the father of her three children? Who does that? What are the chances that she was adulterous, greedy, AND willing to kill? I mean, a pastor's wife? I know it's a cold, cruel world out there sometimes. But that's going to make one heck of a sordid story if she killed for insurance money rather than hiring someone else to do it. If she wanted the money, she would have had someone make it look like a robbery gone bad. She wouldn't have had to flee either. She would have stuck around, playing the role of the victim and widow.

Nope, I'm convinced something else drove this women to shoot her husband -- either in defense of her children or insanity. Most women would resort to other means if their motive was money or the arms of another. Shooting? That's pretty drastic for a female, whether it's homicide or suicide. Brenda Spencer (school shooting - turned the gun on herself also but was de-escalated by a classmate), Aileen Wournos (crazy serial killer, executed by state of Florida), Laurie Dann (schizophrenic teacher who killed one student and wounded 10 others before killing herself also), and Elizabeth Bush (school shooting in defense of bullied students [her victim lived]) are a few examples of female shooters that come to mind.

One other factor, but not an excuse - medication.

It is just a guess. I didn't use any logic, I just shot a random accusation out there. Kinda like those people who got lucky and predicted that George Mason would get into the Final Four. Who knows, she could be a George Mason. You are probably right, but at least all the bases-and left field-are covered now.
