So it wasn't a "done deal" as they said in an earlier report. Hmmm...sorry, Helen.

I think the "crucifying" reference was "Cruci-fixin's," which was going to be the name of the cooking segment that Spears' character (a conservative Christian) was going to have or try to have on Jack's show.
Part of the problem could have been that the ep would have aired on April 13th (if the article was correct), which was the Thursday before Good Friday.
Dang it, I miss Brandon Tartikoff. Now that man KNEW good programming.

That was, without a doubt, one of the stupidest episodes of W&G to date. (Of course, if you were never a watcher, you'd say they're all stupid.)
The whole idea of the episode supposedly was to illustrate to Jack that he shouldn't compromise his principles. Will pointed out that "JackTalk" guest George Takei's show "Star Trek" was all about tolerance and that Amber-Louise (Britney's character) was trying to undermine that with her changes to his show and pushing her Republican "agenda."
Of course, I'm all about actors portraying characters that are unlike themselves. But in this case, wasn't it a bit hypocritical of the producers of W&G to have Britney Spears play such a blatantly negative, stereotypical Conservative character and compromise her own principles? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Britney a troop-supporting, Right-winger? Couldn't they have had a liberal actor play the part instead and make fun of Right-wingers like they wanted to? It's not like they haven't done it before. But there were some outright ignorant anti-Republican statements made in tonight's show.
I don't at all want to get into a political discussion. I'm just confused about what message they were trying to send by having one character being taught not to compromise, while an actor was being made to do just that.
