My grandmother loves them...can shop for hours in Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General, and Big Lots.

I've shopped a few times at Dollar General and Dollar Tree, but prefer larger stores with more variety such as Wal-Mart and K-Mart.

We call ours in Key West the $1.10 store. They upped the prices since opening a second location.

We generally don't go into dollar stores even though there are some around.

Personally, I do not buy anything. It isn't that I don't want anything... there is nothing for me to find that I want to buy.

My mother tends to get things I need, which isn't very often. General we (people) do not need to buy certain things every day, anyway.

Remember when some stores used to be called dime stores? talk about inflation. sheeeesh.

Firefighter...I remember Pamida well, if memory serves me correct, there is still one about 60 miles from me. It was there last year anyway, can't be sure if it is still there.

My wife and daughters love the dollar stores. The girls are always asking if they can take their allowance and walk to the dollar store and shop away. I, on the other hand, can take them or leave them. Last week, I was trying to find birthday candles at the last minute and found them at the dollar store, two packs for a buck. those should last awhile.

Wow, I didn't think that this topic would take off like this. Let's see.. today I got chicken noodle soup 2 for a dollar; a bottle of hot sauce, 2 for a dollar, two liter generic soda, 2 for a dollar, etc, etc.

I'm not sure what I'd do without Dollar stores. I have one less than 2 miles from my house. The closest wal-mart is 10 miles away. If I need something, I go to the Dollar Store. Cleaning supplies, laundry soap, toilet paper, candles, batteries, treats for the kids...etc...I'd rather go get it at the Dollar Store. It's cheaper...PLUS, I save money on gas. The Dollar Store was heaven sent for those of us living in Woolmarket (North Biloxi) We have nothing else but those mom and pop stores on the corner.
