Parking Lot Antics

#1 Postby azskyman » Tue Jun 03, 2003 4:18 pm

OK....if you and I were both driving our vehicles looking for a space around the parking lot at Wally World, would you...

a) be the one who stops in the lane and waits for a customer to come out so you can have a HIS spot? Meanwhile you keep me from moving at all.

b) be the one who rides around for 45 minutes until there is an open space by the front door? That space just six cars down the row isn't good enough for you.

c) be the one to park diagonally across three spaces so you don't get door dings?

d) be the one who parks in the first available space and walks so that you don't have to waste your shopping time?

e) be the one who parks your Expedition in the space marked "compact cars only."

f) be the one who pulls through to the opposite space so you can make a quick getaway without backing up? You then exit by going the wrong way down the aisle.

Or do you perhaps have another parking lot trick that you like to use. No matter how you respond, I think I've seen you in the parking lot already.

At the Sikeston Wal-Mart, there is a line of parking spaces at the very end of the lot (south, near US 60), but close to the grocery entrance...few use it, and I always find an empty space within easy walking distance (then I hop into one of those electric carts to do my shopping).

a and f.
Also G: watch for people coming out the door and then follow them to their car in your car.

And then there's H: They prey on the A people. The h people spot someone waiting for someone to back out and then zoom into the spot ahead of the person that's been waiting there.

And I: Park at the end of a row where there's not a space.

I sometimes have a trailer behind my truck, be it a boat or utility trailer, I always park way out in the "pack a lunch" section. That way my vehicle is out in the open in plain sight of any parking lot security that may be on duty or camera. :14:

Mostly D.

I like Coriolis's additions too especially G. When I went to college there were a few parking lots but the most convenient and largest one was A. You could almost hear "Jaws" playing in the background as the students would come out from their classes and into the parking lot!
