When Have You Had Enough

#1 Postby Janice » Mon Apr 24, 2006 2:25 pm

When have you had enough with a good friend or family member. Maybe you have spent most of your life with them and you are finally fed up.

Me... I am fed up wih a family member who has called me for 30 some years crying about her life. I have given, along with others, suggestions of what may help. She never listened and often was bitter over our comments. Hey, she called me..... Now all these years she is still calling with the same problems. She cannot solve them herself. I am done. I told her not to call me if it is in regards to any problems in her life, I cannot handle it anymore.

i've had enough when people start talking just to hear the sound of their own voice. they dont really have anything constructive to say, they just want to make sure everyone hears their pathetic pie-hole emissions.

Lol, George. Yes, and they only call when they need something. You always wonder if you are the first or last person they called.

I know I get tired of hearing myself whine and complain about the same problem, but then I realize I need to either accept it or change. If a friend or family member does this long enough to me, I'll stop giving advice, just nod my head and start to avoid them.

Some people just like to hear themselves complain and/or they thrive on chaos and being a victim. Heaven forbid you should try and get a word in edge-wise regarding any of YOUR problems or even successes. You're then stealing the spotlight from them.

LOL, maybe that is their whole life. Maybe they feel that they will not get attention from anyone unless they are sick or having problems. My mother was that way. When she went through periods where people were tired of her constant complaining, they avoided her. Then she went into her pity me mode and got some attention.

My mother was a dandy

One of my former co workers used to share details of her personal life that I REALLY didnt need to know. That drove everyone nuts.
