Proud member of a fine team of healthcare workers at UTMB in Galveston...and now an E1 (essential employee for emergency conditions - in other words, this year, I either ride out the storm or evacuate only after all the patients have been evacuated).

Pizza driver here. Its not bad except gas prices are skyrocketing again and tips havent keep pace. Hopefully our mileage will be increased soon. I also train most new drivers and I help train green assistant managers on the delivery aspect of the job. Thinking about stepping up to management..the promotion is there for the asking.

My main responsibilities are to provide early alerts to my co-workers when free food has been put out. I have a prime seat for sightings. I am also responsible for rounding up the troops and getting them to take breaks. It’s a very demanding position.

But seriously, I do work some. I am a Design Engineer and I use a solid modeling program called SolidWorks. I also reverse engineer competitors parts for some of our after-market business. I have a limited ability to do some Finite Element Analysis (FEA), but I hate to tax my brain since they really don’t pay me enough for that.

23 minutes to break!

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when (and if) I grow up. I taught school for ten years, but then changed careers. Have been managing printing plants and newspaper operations since 1979. Been in my current position as GM of Arizona's best quality commercial web coldest printer (our client's opinion, not mine!) since 2000. I'm blessed to be surrounded with people I believe in...and people who believe in me. Virtually every problem has a solution in this environment.

When not working, I enjoy writing, community politics (currently a planning commissioner), and of course, people who enjoy weather as a hobby.

My wife is office manager for an OB-GYN and is adored by the patients. What doctors lack in understanding and compassion (could that happen?), she more than makes up for on each visit someone makes to their office. She's the glue that keeps the practice healthy (and happy!).

I am currently the CAD (computer assisted design) manager for a small millwork engineering company. It a great job, decent pay, I set my own schedule and an extremely relaxed atmosphere (in 5 years I have seen someone wear a tie precisely 3 times), normal attire is shorts and a T-shirt, and thats the owner. :cheesy:

Donuts come in at least once a week, and cookies show up about every other week. The really nice expresso maker is nice, but I am strictly a coffee guy  .

Residential real estate development .... market analyst ..... basically, its my job to know who is building what for how much in all the major metros in Texas. When my company is looking at a piece of land for purchase I visit the site, shop the homebuilders in the area to see what they are doing, check out the topo, get demographics on the area, find out about any upcoming retail projects, parks or new employers coming into the area, etc. In the end, I advise them about whether or not I think the land is a good deal and what kinds of homes we should build on it if we buy it.

Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't. LOL
