OMG! I totally forgot about the chicken heart until reading your post I used to huddle up in my room during bad snowstorms in Colorado with all my parent's Cosby records and listen to them non-stop.

I watched him giving the speech (topic of this thread); he went for shock value so that personal responsibility might once again make an appearance into the vernacular.

I agree that the message is meant to cross all lines of race and culture; he just happened to be at a certain forum at the time.
