I have the candles burning for you, Dakota and the rest of
your family - we all want him to recover fully and have fun
like kids do - his whole life is ahead of him. He is the next
generation who will take over....to make the world a better place.

This is a wonderful Sunday evening update from Jackie.

"Sunday evening here, after one very wet damp weekend.
Good news....we were released from the hospital on Friday morning! AMEN! I was sweating it out, was so afraid that they were not going to let us go, but lo and behold the did indeed give us our walking papers!

We ended up not staying home this weekend though, so technically today is the first day of homecoming. My girls and their scout troop had their camporee this weekend at Hershey park and with camping at a local campground.I so wanted to make sure that we could keep our promise to them and take them to it.God interevened and made it all come together! As it turns out the campground was ten minutes from Tom's mom's house so Dakota spent friday and saturday with Grammy Hower and Aunt Jane( a retired nurse....see how God takes care of ALL the details!).We spent one damp friday night at the campground and a VERY wet day at Hershey park.By Saturday night, the campground was a swamp(tents do not float!)so we opted to sleep at his Mom's house.

Our boy basked in the tender care and attention of his grammy and aunt, whose main pleasure was to treat him like royalty and fatten him up!We came home early this afternoon, truly there is no place like home!

Dakota is doing fine, still does not have alot of energy but that will come back in time.He is on IV antibiotics which I administer via the PICC line here at home.Sometime in the next two to three weeks we have to go back to philly for a minor surgery to remove the bladder stones. That operation is dependant on how fast and well he recovers from his illness, might be longer then three weeks, it's a take it as it goes kind of situation. He sleeps alot his longest "up" time is about four hours in length, then he has to rest.So far he is pain, fever free, all good signs.Appetite is good and finally is regaining some color to his face.

What a gully washer weekend!Despite soggy day yesterday the girls had a good time, I am thankful that Tom and I were able to spend some time with them, that we did not have to scratch their camporee.Dakota was a real trooper, he did not mind staying at Grammy's and I was comfortable not to mention grateful that I could leave him in capable hands. The other bonus was how close the camp was to her house.I did not know that until friday afternoon, it was blessing to be sure.

I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to taking a hot bath and sleeping in my own bed.The weekend and all the wet action really pooped me out...BUT what fun it was to loose myself on rides that toss and turn you this way and that, to laugh and just relax , have a bit of fun...even if it did rain cats and dogs, not to mention the whole barnyard too!

Thanks dear friends once again, I hope tomorrow I can finally brew a cuppa tea and visit the park(where one never gets wet!) and S2K....I have much catching up to do, am so looking forward to it as well!

Take good care,God Bless one and all!

Love, jackie"

I'm sure Jackie will be checking in personally today or tomorrow. I'll brew some Earl Grey so she can sit back a relax awhile. I think some KK's are in order too!!!!!

You Guys are the best!! (((Hugs)))
Thanks

Karan - that was the best way to end the weekend, huh? I already replied to Jackie, via e-mail. So glad Dakota is home now, that will do wonders for him.

Thanks for sharing her note to everyone here too. Jackie has many new friends here also that care about Dakota. We sure can do wonders here in the prayer dept.!!!!

Yes our Prayer Team here is great! My mom belongs to several prayer groups and nearly everytime you're visiting her, the phone will ring with another request. She takes it very seriously, much the same way we do here. If I told her I belong to a prayer group here on the *INTERNET* she'd say - oh, Mary do you know what you're getting yourself involved with? he he I'd say I'm long gone by now.....she of course does not own a computer. LOL

Thanks Karan for sharing those e-mails (AGAIN!). She sounds relieved, but still cautious for obvious reasons. I'm sure Grammy and Aunt Jane were only too happy to be able to help and spoil him! I certainly hope that he'll continue to recover each day.

Somehow I missed this thread yesterday...I'm thankful God showed me where it was tonight.

Friends, words cannot express how much you have all touched my heart. This world is made up of mighty fine folks, a blessing to me and to my family that we are fortunate to find our fine folks here at S2K.

I've printed out these pages, adding them to my son's book.

Know that as of tonight he is on the mend, picc line comes out tomorrow, one more hurdle on the 17th, minor surgery to remove bladder stones.Considering how far he has come in the last week, what he battled during those 16 days in the hospital, this surgery will be but a blink of the eye.

My husband and I want you all to know how thankful and grateful we are for your prayers,we witnessed many miracles with our son during his hospital stay. When the prayer requests went out via karan, soon after we saw him take the turn towards getting better, truly the hand of God was upon Him, the power of prayer at work.

May God Bless each and everyone of you, may your cups run to overflowing with all of the abundant blessings from God above.

Love in Christ, Tom, Jackie, Dakota and sisters

Jackie,

I am always thinking of you and Dakota. I continue to pray for his continued improvement. I hope that the surgery on the 17th goes well and that he gains some weight soon. :)
