Help - Funniest Movies

#1 Postby Cookiely » Fri Jun 09, 2006 5:46 am

As you know from my prayers topic my niece and her father have both been diagnosed with cancer this month. I read about research done where patients who watched funny movies have a better outcome than those who don't. Jessica has a vcr in her room at the hospital. I'm not into comedies as I love action movies so I need your help. Can you name me some movies that really made you laugh.

Here are a few of my favorites.....

Planes, Trains & Automobiles - starring Steve Martin and John Candy, may he RIP. Hilarious! Just realized it's almost 20 years old!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093748/

Airplane! (arguably one of the funniest spoofs of disaster movies to ever be made)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080339/

The Wedding Singer - starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120888/

All of the Chevy Chase National Lampoon Vacation movies. There were 2 or 3 I believe.

Here's a few of my favorites I can recommend:

- Looney Tunes: Back In Action

- "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"

- "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

- "Mouse Hunt"

- "Spy Hard"

If nothing else, put in "The Three Stooges".

I pulled these sites off the internet with comedy movies

http://www.imdb.com/chart/comedy

http://www.hollywoodvideo.com/movies/categories/comedy.aspx

I can't remember how old she is but here are some funny ones that I have enjoyed.

Meet the Fockers and The other one that came out with it. I think it is Meet the Parents.

Hope this helps

My favorite comedy movies has to be all of the Pink Panther Movies that have come out. Peter Sellers was so funny in the old ones. And the new one that is coming out next week on dvd/vhs is pretty funny too with Steve Martin taking the role that Peter Sellers took.

I remember seeing a movie a few years ago...it was a movie from the late 60s I think with Peter Sellers called "The Party"...I didn't even know about this movie til a few years ago.

This movie is soooooooooooooo funny, I mean really good. See if you can get that one.

PLOT SUMMARY

An Indian actor (played by Peter Sellers) screws up royally during the filming of a costume epic. When the 'Fire this guy' list gets confused with the studio head's guest list for a party, he appears there and everyone assumes he must belong. A great many sight gags and misunderstanding gags are played out at the party where the rest of the film takes place.

Peter Sellers is the actor who is invited by mistake to a great hollywood party. He is a little stupid and very careless and, as you probably understand, he destroys everything...I mean everything.

How old is she? I wouldn't want to recommend a movie that's too old for her age.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Sabrina

Anger Management

Happy Gilmore

13 Going on 30

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Blast from the Past

Two Weeks Notice
