Hmmmm... you'd think he'd already know that these people (the so-called "insurgents" that are nothing less than blood-thirsty terrorists) can NOT be dealt with diplomatically. It'll be interesting to see if anything develops from this. Heaven knows Russia has its hands already pretty full dealing with the "insurgents" in Chechnya--who've already shown their callous disregard for life in what happened at that school-hostage crisis a year or so ago. Personally, I had long held that the Russians ought to just give Chechnya their autonomy if not outright independence--but this despicable act made me rethink any sympathy whatsoever I might have had with their cause. It's just two completely different mindsets--two dichotomous cultures/ethics/mores and values... like trying to mix oil and water.

It would be nice for them to step up to the plate, but I doubt it. They have been dealing with Iran under the table for years now. It would not be in there interest to get involved with Iraq unfortunately

I agree... I think this is all bravado for media purposes only. They get too involved in any "insurgency" in Iraq, and sooner or later they'd be crossing swords with their "pals" in Iran... and that won't sit well at all. ..

Smoke and mirrors!
