We got lucky, Hope doesn't eat anything unless it's food related. Wait, she will eat a cupcake liner, b/c there are food crumbs on it, but that's just about it. For the first year she'd occasionally put a kids' toy in her mouth (duplo lego) and chew it up, but never swallow it. Once she hit a year of age, she quit all of that. We can leave shoes nearby and she only lies by them, since they belong to us. She'll even put her head on one of our shoes but never chew it. So cute.

The only thing I can think of that is unusual is I would put Sweet Gum Maple tree pods in an old, nasty smelling, dirty sock, and tie a knot. We'd drag this sock thru a mud puddle and let it dry. She loved this 'treat'. The pods, with spiky points, made her gums feel good I guess. They're all over my backyard since we have 2 Sweet Gum Maples in her territory. At first I thought she'd chew one, swallow it and we'd have a blockage. All she does is occasionally toss one in her mouth, playing one on one, she tosses it in the air, lets it land and then pounces on it.

But hickory nuts...that's a new one!
