Super Saver Store in my area Closed
Remembering me posting a topic last summer about Albertsons changing to Super Saver? After a year of business, Albertsons-owned Super Saver store in my area is closing its doors this summer. Why you ask? It's not the fact that they're not doing good business which they are, eventhough they have limited advertising. And It's not the fact that Albertsons is closing more of their stores in the US. The cashiers told me that a building company has bought out their facility this week, which makes no sense, because the old Wal-Mart store is still up for sale for 10 years after relocating. Super Saver just started their "Store Closing" sales this week with discounts ranging from 5-50%. Also closing in the same shopping strip is Radio Shack. I'm guessing they're wanting to demolish and rebuild the entire shopping area, which doesn't explain why Subway (sandwiched between Super Saver and Radio Shack) is still open.

Just yesterday, I found out that all the Super Saver stores (not just the one in my area) will be closing this August, except for 2 stores in Utah. Just another sign that Albertsons corp. is soon fading away. You know what the biggest joke is? The Super Saver store chain was never mentioned in the list of Albertsons Store closings on the news.

If you have to deal with CVS pharmacy, be sure you keep an eye on your medications. The CVS where I get my medicine filled, has shorted me on the number of pills , have completely lost a fax from my doctor's office for a prescription, my current prescription was on its last refill. CVS lost the fax. I didn't get my medicine for a day because of CVS's screw-up. If I had another choice besides Walgreen or CVS I would change pharmacy in a heartbeat. I have been getting my medicne at this particular store when it was an Eckerds. My med price was $14.95 for 30 pills in 1999. That was when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had my thyroid gland completely removed, so I have to have the medicine daily. Now the price of my meds is $24.95 . When you are on a limited budget during the summer, it really hurts when med prices go up.
