One Critically Shot In Grocery Store Robbery

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Thu Jun 12, 2003 12:29 pm

FORT WORTH, Texas -- FORT WORTH, Texas -- Police are investigating a robbery at a Fort Worth grocery store Wednesday morning that left one man critically injured.

The robbery happened before 10:30 a.m. at Herman's Grocery in the 2300 block of Clinton Avenue in Fort Worth. Police said 20-year-old Freddie Marshall shot a convenience store owner during the robbery.

The man was shot in the store, and another customer pulled the victim down to keep him from being hit again, witnesses said.

One witness chased the suspect in his car, supplying police with the license plate number that led to Marshall. He was found and taken into police custody at the intersection of Northwest 26th and Gould late Wednesday morning.

The storeowner is in critical condition.

Marshall has been charged with aggravated robbery.
