13 Year old charged for raping 3 girls

#1 Postby Meso » Thu Jul 27, 2006 7:59 am

This is in South Africa by the way,But even though we have many of these sort of things happen.. I just find it so sick. This goverment really needs to do something about this crime they seem to be oblivious to.

Malelane - A 13-year-old boy was charged with three counts of rape on Thursday.

Three 10-year-old girls claimed that a boy from school raped them in bushes on their way home in Mangweni, near Malelane in Mpumalanga, on Friday last week.

"One of the girls was limping when she got home and her mother had to give her a lashing before she explained what happened," said Tonga police spokesperson Constable Mzwandile Nyambi on Thursday.

Police arranged for a doctor to examine the girl and confirm she'd been raped.

Three counts of rape were opened against the boy when police got statements from the other two girls.

The boy has been placed in his parents' custody because of his age, and the case docket has been sent to the National Prosecuting Authority for a decision on whether to prosecute him.

Local residents held a meeting on Wednesday and blamed explicit television programmes for influencing children.

"What the television is showing nowadays can shock you. Today's TV screen is full of sex, so the children obviously learn these things from the box," said one parent, Julia Xulu.

"We hardly knew anything about sex when we were growing up but children of nowadays seem to be extraordinarily knowledgeable about anything under the sun," she added.

Parents agreed at the meeting to warn their children about the dangers of rape.

Oh yeah. Girls start dating in 6th-7th grade now.

And TV ain't helping. Many of the teen shows depict high school life (dates and dances and such) with 6th and 7th graders in middle school.
