AZLE, Texas -- Police are trying to decide if a north Texas school bus driver should face criminal charges after a 6-year-old boy was left inside an Azle school bus for two hours.
Rebecca Schneider said she took her son, Westlee, to his first day of summer school at Hoover Elementary School. After school, Westlee was supposed to ride the bus to his baby sitter's house, she said. Instead, when the bus driver dropped off the bus at the Azle bus barn on 300 Roe St., she didn't notice Westlee had fallen asleep and didn't get off the bus.
His mother said Westlee apparently got off the bus about two hours later crying and walked out near the street, where he was found by a woman.
Azle school officials are conducting an investigation. They have not said any action will be taken against the bus driver.
