"Sleigh Bells, are you listening......" - first thing that popped in my head when I saw this topic.
Yeah, I hear ya Diane! Some years I've had gifts purchased by now, one year way back in February, but not this year - nary a one! Not even a stinkin' ornament (usually pick one up on our vacation). I actually have way too many xmas decorations! But shopping early for gifts isn't a bad idea. I need an inspiration though.....got any ideas?

I used to DISLIKE shopping on the net with a passion but NOW.....it's ALL I do, Cabelas, PoliceOne.com, Extreme K9 etc.....shopping is EASY now with both of us being involved in law enforcement

Okay there Dennis - rub it in, rub it in. LOL
I just hope I can pull off new lights out front this year. I don't know what the heck I'm doing (blowing fuses) and hubby prefers coaching me from the couch, instead of shopping with me and showing me how to plug these all in correctly. I have detailed diagrams and tags on specific lights, down to which shrub they go on, which outlet they go into, labeling them A thru C also. This has worked for about 6 years but now the lights are so old (hand me downs from my FIL's old condo from 1990), they need to just be thrown out. I'll go all my trouble, following my guide from the pervious year, and then half a strand will go out. I'll jiggle them but they won't re-light. Then a strong wind comes along and they're working again.
Meanwhile of course hubby is saying - why go to all this trouble? He hates to do anything house related. Fix a leaky faucet - he puts that off for months!
I secretly want him to turn into an outdoor xmas light kind of nut - and it won't happen.
I will probably go back to candles in the windows and lights around my front door. LOL But if there's anything early I'd do for this xmas season, it would be to start all over again, with brand new lights and extension cords for the front of our house.
I think there should be community xmas lights classes. For dummies like me!

I did not do a very good job on Christmas last year because of all the heartache and I just couldn't get into the spirit. I am usually done shopping by the end of October. But, I am getting back into the swing of things and started my shopping yesterday online.
At the rate I am going I will have my tree up this season.

I'm really starting to not like it either. Now that I'm older and haven't believed in you know who for years it's kinda boring. More of a hassle than anything... I enjoy certain aspects of it, but then there are other things about it that make you hate it.
