Shopping for shoes

#1 Postby coriolis » Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:58 pm

We have a wedding coming up in a week. My step daughter is getting married. KA-CHING KA-CHING

My wife, as mother of the bride was shopping on-line tonight KA-CHING.

She's wearing a "champagne" color dress and was looking for shoes. What an ordeal! She must have looked at 100 pairs of shoes and they were all "wrong." There were no champagne shoes! She looked at shoes that were "natural," tan, "sand," and about 50 other names for the same dang color. I swear, they were all the same color.
They say that men only see about 8 colors. That's it! But she saw the most subtle differences. I think it's all in her head. She asked me about each and every one of them and they were all FINE.

Sheesh. She should have had her daughter over instead of asking me.

"Honey, what do you think of this"
"It's fine"
"No, it's the wrong color, don't you think?"
"It's fine"
"What about this one"
"It's fine"
"No, what about this one"
"It's fine"
No......and on and on and on.

She's going to spend more time looking for shoes than she will wearing them.

I got disgusted and went upstairs. I'll get out my "good" shoes from the back of the closet, wipe them off, and I'll be all set.

tell her to try rhinestone studded heels or off white to accent the dress. My fashion advisor told me so. They say champagne and diamonds or crystals really compliment each other.

See if there is a Cason's Shoes warehouse in your area... that is the absolute best place to get shoes. They always have that "Perfect Pair"! :D

Find a nice pair that she can have dyed to match her dress.

What about clear shoes? They go with almost any color dress. When I was serving in a wedding, my dress was baby blue and the clear shoes went perfect. Of course, if the dress is long like down to the floor like mine was, nobody will be able to even tell what shoes she has on. Or she could get her shoes dyed to match her dress. PS. This is coming from a shoe salesperson.

She can come borrow a pair of mine. I have about 200 pair right now. I gave about 150 pair to St. Vincent Da'Paul last fall. I also have a purse to match every pair, including my tennis shoes. Sunglasses to match too.

Don't feel bad Janice, I have 1 pair of sandles, 1 pair of black sneakers that double as work shoes, 1 pair of dress shoes and 1 pair of slippers, that's it

Wow, I thought I was bad. I only (in comparison) have 150 pairs, but not matching purses or sunglasses... no tennis shoes though.

i agree that she should get a pair of shoes dyed to match the dress.

Gesh girls, I know I don't have the room to store over 100 pair of shoes. And do you guys really wear them all, seems almost impossible.

I have 2 pair of sunglasses, a brown pair and a black one, and about 3-4 purses I actually use, and about 10 pair of shoes, and only wear about 3 pair of them often.

So what is the newest scoop coriolis? Did she finally find a pair or decide to dye? I also think that would be the best option.

Thanks for the well wishes O Town. We're reallly winging it with this wedding. The families are pitching in with the food and everything else is low budget. I think everything is checked off the list and paid for now except the flowers and the dry cleaning. Still waiting for some items to be delivered. No nasty surprises.....yet.
