Celebrity Duets

Anybody else watching this?

It's not really grabbing me yet, although it's good to see some of the classic entertainers (Smokey Robinson, Peter Frampton, Gladys Knight) again. The basic concept is Dancing With The Stars meets American Idol. They've taken actors and paired them up with singers to see if the actors can really sing. But what gets me is why is Lucy Lawless competing? And yes, I'm a Xena fan so you'd think I'd be happy. But any Xena fan knows that Lucy has sung the National Anthem at sporting events, has performed on Broadway as Rizzo from Grease (more singing), and even sang on a couple of musical episodes of Xena. So, why is she in a competition for "non-singers?"

On a cute note, we'll get to see the "Carlton Dance" from Alfonso Ribeiro if he's still there in a few weeks.

My favorite - Hal Sparks. He reminds me of Garth Brooks, not in the voice or looks, but in his manner of showmanship. He's fun to watch.
