Slavery

#1 Postby Janice » Thu Aug 31, 2006 2:44 pm

What is the difference in child slavery in other countries and people in the US who have multiple wives and older men take 12 year olds as wives? How come our government doesn't go in and save those children. They know this is going on and these children have no protection and have to have babies at this age. This is rape on a child and I do not understand why our government allows it to go on.

Since you're asking WHAT the difference is, I'll try to explain how the two differ as best I know how. However, IMO, they are both evil acts and there is little difference.

In the US, it seems there are those whose religion preaches that they should be allowed to have multiple wives, even if the wives are underage. Since they believe they are "committed" to the wives and in a "loving" relationship, they feel it is okay. As for why the government allows it -- I don't think they do. Isn't polygamy against the law as well as statuatory rape? As for why they can't stop it...I don't know.

In other countries, child slavery extends into deeper and darker territory than the above defined, so-called "loving, committed" relationships. Unfortunately, it happens here also. Children are sold by their greedy, impoverished parents or kidnapped and hidden amid the world of human trafficking. Sex slaves are trafficked into the US as well as out of it. They are beaten, starved, and forced into prostitution and pornography. Some are even subjected to genital mutilation to prevent pleasure from being experienced later in life. Of course, there's also child labor slavery in sweatshops, farms, and other global industries.

It's all a disgusting shame in my opinion.

I heard on tv yesterday were there were 30 communes with the group leader charged. Some in Canada and Mexico. Also, he seems to have control of a whole town, police, etc. I am sure the government has to be aware of this since it went public.

Yeah, even the police are controlled and allow this to happen because they followed Warren Jeff's orders. Quite rare to see this happen.

The biggest problem is that no one in these communities are willing to come forward and testify either because of fear or indoctrination. Without testimony you have no case to bring to trial.
