Or is it all getting done tomorrow? For once, I'm doing some things ahead of time, and changing my usual holiday menu a bit. Just finished putting together a great cranberry conserve - recipe courtesy of the food network and Emeril. I'm also doing Rachel Ray's stuffin' muffins ahead of time. I thought that was a terrific idea for stuffing - making individual servings in muffin tins. Also did one of Sunny's famous cheesecakes and making raspberry sauce to go with it for dessert. All I'll really need to deal with tomorrow is the turkey and smashed spuds. I'm kinda liking being organized this year.

If this were Christmas, I could say yes. But it's not, and my uncle is doing the cooking, so no.

Nah, unless you count the stuffing made up to go, the cranberry sauce & the black olives are in the fridge, made my mom's cole slaw, turkey will be brined when I get home from work, so no "heat" applied to anything but preps are being done:)

yep started already, cornbread dressing, pies, cranberry salad, 4 tables and 40 chairs deleivered, I'm on a roll till I crash hehehehe

Just the Turkey. Threw it out on the smoker about 20 minutes ago. Oh yeah and I cooked the cornbread for the stuffing already. Thats it for me, my mom did the pies and dessert.

Oh yes... Caramel Apple Cupcakes, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Pie. The rest will be done tomorrow.

We are having Thanksgiving at my brothers house. My sister in law's sister is making the turkey and my niece is making a carrott souffle which is to die for. I have no idea what all the others are bringing. I aways miss my grandpa's special Thanksgiving soup which was a meal in itself.

This year I dont have to cook........I cooked everything last year.......I do enjoy cooking but my Grandma wanted to cook this year........its goin to be the 1st Thanksgiving without my Grandpa he passed away this past April. It's going to be an emotional day but it will be a good day too.

Cookiely...is that like Piccadilly Cafeteria's carrot souffle? I have that recipe! It is good. It tastes like white cake instead of carrots. Yum!

Nope; I am not allowed to cook holiday meals. My mother doesn't trust me to do it right yet (I am 40 and contrary to her opinions can cook a turkey just fine, thank you!).

Kim - in that case, just kick back, relax, and let her do it if it's that darn important to her! No doubt you'll be doing the clean up though?! Hang in there - it's only one day.

I've got my MIL coming in, and to put it mildly, we've had "issues" for 20 years. Every time she visits she sneaks around the house looking for things to nail me with. The best one was when I found her going through my cleaning supplies and she informed me that I was killing her son by using harsh household cleaners. Apparently I'm only supposed to use baking soda and vinegar. Early on I discovered I was going to kill us all with a salad. I let her take over and she proceeded to wash every last veggie, including the lettuce leaves in dishwashing detergent, and individually dry each leaf with it's own paper towel.

My wife has to work 2-5 so me and my daughter are going to my parents early then we will all go to my mother in laws when she gets off.

The carrot replaces the traditional sweet potatos with marshamallows. I don't particularly care for carrots but this is delicious and much better than the sweet potatos.

I feel your pain. My mama had the MIL from hell. My grandmother made everyones life miserable. She had such a strong personality that when she was in the casket everyone thought she was going to get up and give us hell for doing something wrong. A few neighbors came to make sure she was dead, and to tell us horrible stories of how she treated them. Like we as family didn't know already. A couple of them hadn't seen my grandmother in twenty years. She certainly left a lasting impression on people.
