Nerves of Steel

#1 Postby angelwing » Thu Nov 30, 2006 5:27 pm

My friend, an ex-Marine Aviator wanted to show off his new twin-engine
plane. I was riding along as he put it through its paces. Suddenly, we were
caught in a violent thunderstorm, with lightning crashing all around us.
Next, we lost the radio and most of the instruments.

As we were being tossed around in the sky, George said, "Uh-oh!" Fearing the
worst, I asked, "What's wrong now?"
George replied, "I got the hiccups. Do something to scare me."

Good point. I have a cousin thats about 60 now.spent 8 years in the Marine Corps in the 1960's. He bristles when ppl refer to him as an Ex Marine. BTW he said these were the best 8 years of his life.

Yes...my parents are the same way when it comes to that...but around here almost everyone knows the difference...once you get away from the military areas though, it seems everyone gets referred to as "Ex" unless you have someone that was in the Corps to correct them...
